Autor: Andrea Kiskeri Aiguabella, Laura Serrat Sastre, Gloria Díaz Arnal y Karin Schlanger

Número de Revista de Psicoterapia a la que pertenece el artículo: 110

Coordinador del monográfico: Carlos Mirapeix y Javier Fernández-Álvarez

Details:

The present work tries to describe a clinical case comparing two models: the Problem Solving Brief Therapy/MRI and the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, in order to compare both models, and interventions applied to the same problem. This paper presents the clinical case of a five-year-old child who, in the wake of a car accident in the past, still has a high nervousness and fear every time he is in a car. The intervention was carried out at the Brief Therapy Center in Palo Alto, California, using the Problem Solving Brief Therapy/MRI, while at the same time the authors imagined a possible intervention from the point of view of the Cognitive-Behavioral model. The authors hope to show that both models achieve changes in the desired direction. It is more a matter of which model the professional feels more comfortable with.
